Production Chains are an integral part of Anno 2070, so we here at the Anno 2070 Wiki have created a definitive guide to all of the production chains in the game. Can't remember how many buildings.

No need for wikis on this, just look at the processing times. Basically you just have to find the greatest common divisor (gcd) of all the farms/factories in the chain. Then you have to devide the times of every step in the chain by this value. This gives you the number of buildings you need of this step.
easy example: the gcd of 0:30 (step A) and 0:15 (step B) is 0:15. buildings for step A: 0:30 devided by 0:15 equals 2 - 2 buildings. buildings for step B: 0:15 devided by 0:15 equals 1 - 1 building. if you do this for bread (i'm not sure what the times are, probably 1:00, 0:30, 1:00) you get.

2 farms. 1 mill. 2 bakeriesthis also works for chains with some parallel sub-chains like steel beams or canned food.Have fun!Edit: workload and Trade Unions are excluded:D.
